Development

The SBA Development Programme

Development is a key area of the SBA’s activity which includes; promoting the game, attracting new members and helping our 895 affiliated clubs to maintain a healthy membership as well as club, volunteer and policy development.

Over the coming weeks and months we want to provide a useful resource for bowling clubs across the country. Below are just a few examples of ideas and initiatives we want to share with you in the year ahead and beyond.

·         Club Development

o   How to attract & retain members

o   Ideas on funding opportunities for Scottish Bowling clubs

·         Participation

o   Around the country – what’s happening in our clubs to attract new bowlers to our sport?

o   Where do we start? – A guide for a non-participant

·         Volunteers

o   Volunteering opportunities

Already a number of clubs and bowlers have highlighted some of the great work that is going on throughout Scotland and we would welcome any updates or examples of good practice that we can share with our members and supporters.

Your feedback provides vital information which will assist us in building a picture of what is going on around the country and will help us to achieve our key goals, increasing our membership and attracting sponsors and new funding to our game.

Colin Hutchison was appointed earlier this year as Scottish Bowls National Development Officer and he will be a key contact for our clubs.

If you would like to discuss any club developments or future project work please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we would be grateful for your feedback: bowlsdevelopment@btconnect.com

Best wishes for the 2010 season.
